Quick Table Top Using Spray Paint

Hey folks, haven't done this in quite some time but I'm hoping to get back into the swing of things. I recently got a new phone and when I started taking all of my pictures off of it I found ones I intended to make a blog post with!

I used Masonite( or MDF or whatever you call it) to make a 3ft x 3ft table top for Guild Ball. I like having the hard boundaries of the table edges rather than delineating them with counters or other easily movable markers. So, the first thing I did was cut down some scrap MDF into a 3' x 3' square.

Next I decided I wanted some texture beyond what the spray paint would provide so I used some 3M spray adhesive I had laying around and created irregular patterns of texture. In hindsight, it didn't do too much. This is the can I used.

After that I sprayed the whole board with a matte black spray.

Following that a Dark Brown. You can see the texture the adhesive created in the picture above. The thing I like about it is I don't have to worry about it coming off like I would sand.

Using this selection of paints, I went all street art freestyle on the board and ended up with this.

I am pleased with the final outcome and it was very cheap to make. I'm considering making something to set the boundaries for Warmahordes games that use the Rumble Format. Still thinking about that one.

Until next time!
